WHALE WATCHING VIDEO - Puerto Princesa Palawan, Philippines

The call of amazement from everyone was beyond explanation.   We were lucky that besides dolphins we saw this amazing whale though so near and yet so far from our reach.  Do you know that feeling when you get so emotional that tears are just on the brink of falling out from your eyes?  That you are so overwhelmed by what you saw that something is just going to burst from inside you?  I don't know about my other companions but that is just how I felt at that moment.  So indescribably magical!

What we saw was a Short-Finned Pilot Whale (Globicephala Macrorhynchus).  It has a big almost round head, a falcate dorsal fin with wide base located closer to their head.  The male grows to be 7m long, while the female grows to be 6m long.

The great thing about dolphin watching in Palawan is that they offer 100% money back guarantee if you don't see any dolphins during your tour.  Which only means that they are very confident that you will truly see these dolphins.  But I don't think the 100% money back guarantee applies to seeing the whale during your tour.  So seeing one is truly a big bonus.  And definitely a wonderous experience.

Some of my personal tips acquired during our dolphin watching expedition can be seen in my first post of Puerto Princesa Palawan.  To those who plan to enjoy this extraordinary experience,  I do hope you will love it as much as we did!

DOLPHIN WATCHING TOUR - Puerto Princesa Palawan, Philippines Photos

Seeing the Port of Palawan as we ride our "foso" or boat for our dolphin watching tour.
Some of the rare close up shots of these lovely dolphins.
They move swift and fast that shots like these are rare!
These dolphins move so close to our "foso" or boat that we can almost touch them.
These school of dolphins move in packs that its magical just watching them.
We were lucky we saw some whales with the dolphins. We saw this "short-finned pilot whale".
These are some of the dolphins we saw.  "Fraser's dolphin".
"Pantropical spotted dolphin"
"Long-snouted spinner dolphin"
