Blue Diamond Hotel's Guide Book - Vietnam

Somehow, I don't know why I included this guide book in my blog.  Maybe because I think some of you maybe interested in the details about Blue Diamond Hotel.  This guide book may help answer some of your questions.  Please pardon the lack of clearness in my photos.  I guess I still need a lot more practice. =)

Blue Diamond Hotel's Restaurant - Vietnam

Blue Diamond Hotel Restaurant is located at the ground floor of the hotel.  It offers a wide range of variety of foods for you to choose from.  Breakfast buffet hours are from 6:00am to 9:00am.

Blue Diamond Hotel Restaurant at the ground floor
The restaurant located at the ground floor is just beyond the reception area where you'll never miss it.  The area itself is fairly small, probably fit to my estimation only, up to 40 - 50 people.  The ambiance has a comfy-cozy feel to it.

Interior of the restaurant
Simple decorations not too flashy, comfy chairs, neatly stacked paper napkins, neutral tone colors, clean lines... all add to the simplicity and comfortability that the restaurant offers.  It offers any diners a "welcome feeling" everytime you step inside its doors.

Buffet table
The buffet table found in the middle area of the restaurant offers a variety of dishes from bread and pastries, salads, pastas, rice, congees, omelettes, sandwiches, fruits to name a few.  But of course the buffet table most always offers their Vietnamese noodle with fresh herbs and their famous Vietnamese rice rolls.

Below are photos of the buffet dishes:

(Clockwise) 1. Rootcrops in some days like sweet potatoes, potatoes and corn; 2. Different kinds of pastas for pasta lovers; 3. Fried noodles; 4. Vietnamese noodle.

Just behind the corner wall are the cereals, milk, juice, coffee and yogurt.

There was one special food that we were looking for everyday when we ate our breakfast.  That is the Blue Diamond Hotel's homemade yogurt!  Yes, it is made by the hotel itself and it's just perfect!  Not too sour, texture is just right and really delicious.

A sample of what our breakfast is like... a complete meal! =)

The best thing of all, after your breakfast if you need to do some business through the internet, they have computers available inside the restaurant to accommodate your needs.  What could be more perfect?

The sign says "For Business Only"

So for those doing business this is really very convenient and perfect place to organize yourselves before setting out for the day.  A perfect match indeed!

Blue Diamond Hotel Room Accommodation's Mini Bar - Vietnam

Blue Diamond Hotel room accommodation's mini bar, has simple contents; nothing really flamboyant but more on the necessity of the occupants.

DSCF2609- A
The room's closet with safety deposit box and mini bar below

As I have written in my previous blog, the room's closet is really very small on top of that it is also occupied by the safety deposit box and mini bar.

The mini bar contents are as follows:
  • 1 mineral water 1.5L - La Vie
  • 2 mineral water 0.5L - La Vie
  • 2 green tea
  • 2 beer - Heineken
  • 2 soda - Pepsi
  • 2 soda - Seven Up
  • 2 energy drink - Red Bull

I don't know why I always love to look at the mini bar even if I don't usually touch them.  Maybe because it's off limits but nice to look at?  Whatever the reason, I always had fun looking through the mini bar.

Truthfully, it's not that I'm telling you not to drink what's inside the mini bar, but when you go outside, just along the road you can already buy most of what's in the mini bar.  At a lower price.  But of course it's anyone's choice.

Blue Diamond Hotel's Room Accommodation - Vietnam

Our room accommodations were really surprisingly spacious despite the hotel being a 3 star hotel.  And we were more than thankful and happy for that.

DSC02475- A
Our elevator with its obvious few floor buttons.

Poster showing the  amenities of Blue Diamond Hotel.

The hotel itself has very limited floors as seen in the above first image.  Inside the elevator is the poster; second image; showing the amenities of the hotel.  The amenities which includes basement parking, restaurant, business center, gym room, Viva Lounge and the guest rooms which starts from the 2nd floor up until the 8th floor.

We were given two rooms.  One on the 2nd floor and the other on the 6th floor.  Both facing the street.  Our rooms were rooms 210 and 610.

ROOM 210

Room 210, as we requested were for three (3) persons.  The room is complete with its own sofa and coffee table, luggage rack, television, working table and mirror, bathroom, closet and minibar.

The television, sofa and coffee table; and luggage rack are all across our beds.  The coffee table is complete with three (3) pcs. complimentary bottled water, three (3) pcs. Lipton tea bags, three (3) pcs. Nescafe instant coffee and three (3) pcs. sugar packs.

The leftmost door which is shot partially in this photo is the main door to our room.  The middle door which has a different hue color among the three is the closet door and below is the minibar.  The rightmost door, is the door leading to our bathroom.  What I really don't appreciate is the closet.  So small for the three (3) of us.  We didn't actually use it except to hang our used clothes.

Upon entering the bathroom, the first thing you'll see is the water closet.  On the right is the bath tub and on the left is the lavatory along with the intercom phone and hairdryer.

ROOM 610
Room 610, were for two (2) persons.  The room is much the same as room 210 except it only has 1 couples bed.  It is also complete with its own sofa, coffee table set, luggage rack, television, working table and mirror, bathroom, closet and minibar.

Just by looking at the above photo the room feels more roomier that the previous room.  And it has a coffee table set that allows couple to enjoy a simple chat with each other.

The mini sofa is definitely for couples only.  But if you want a spacious seat, then this fits only one person. =)

As much as we always search for good room accommodations, this definitely fits the bill in my opinion.  Not much of a 5 star hotel but then, the amenities that comes within the room itself is not bad at all.  Spacious rooms and oh yes WIFI Free.  Just ask the front desk for the password and you're good to go.  I love Vietnam! =)  Hope you'll find the experience fulfilling as much as I did.

Know Vietnam's Currency

VND or Vietnam Dong is Vietnam's currency.  Below are the images of the actual bills.  Remember in my previous blog, Vietnam - The Land to Discover;  I wrote that the estimate of the bill amount of Vietnam Dong are as follow:  (This is just an estimate so that when we buy things we can count it faster.)
  1. VND1,000,000.00 = PHP2,000.00
  2. VND500,000 = PHP1,000.00
  3. VND10,000.00 = PHP20.00

The current conversion rate of Vietnamese Dong is more or less:
1 Vietnamese Dong = 0.0020 Philippine Peso
Note: this rate may vary depending on it's rate per day.

Below, are the conversion rates of Vietnamese Dong based on the above rate.

currency# 1

VND500 = PHP1.00

currency# 2

VND1,000 = PHP2.00

currency# 3

VND2,000 = PHP4.00

currency# 4

VND5,000 = PHP10.00

currency# 5

VND10,000 = PHP20.00

currency# 6

VND20,000 = PHP40.00

currency# 7

VND50,000 = PHP100.00

currency# 8

VND100,000 = PHP200.00

currency# 9

VND200,000 = PHP400.00

Now, you know why they don't use coins when selling things.  =)  Truthfully, the whole time I've been there, I didn't see a single coin being exchanged.  And now do you also know why, I said that you will feel like a millionaire when holding their money?  Imagine, having VND1,000,000.00 and its only PHP2,000.00? =)  It's really a very perplexing feeling.  Nevertheless, it was a fun experience.
