Hong Kong: Disneyland Amusement Park Experience

Inside Hong Kong Disneyland Amusement Park; the magic, fantasy, fairytale and adventure continues.  One is given the opportunity to leave all the worries and troubles behind and enjoy this special moment.

Welcome Sign, Mickey skateboarding above a whale and Mickey the Magician

All these are part and parcel of what you will see during your adventure through this amusement park.

Some of the most memorable adventures and meetings with Disney Characters:

Main Street U.S.A.

The Adorable Couple - Mickey and Minnie!

Having the chance to greet this fabulously popular couple is like being an adoring fan and meeting your most admired actor in Hollywood for the first time!

Tangled Donald Duck Decor in one of the Souvenir Shops at Main Street U.S.A

Interesting to look at!

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is filled with science fiction, fantasies and space adventure.  A World of "Future" and the "Unknown"...

Orbitron

Orbitron is where you pilot your own saucer high above Tomorrowland.  Alas, we weren't able to partake in this adventure.  The line is too long... =(

Stitch Encounter
Stitch Encounter is where one talk and play games with mischievous Experiment 626 (otherwise known as Stitch) at the Space Traffic control center.  Never the same show twice.

Autopia

Autopia's walkway ceiling decor

Autopia's futuristic electric car
Autopia is where you drive into the future aboard electric cars that cruise along the highways of tomorrow.  Minimum height to drive is 137cm.  Minimum height to ride is 81cm.  Fun ride for your little toddlers.  Nothing scary, don't worry! =)

Outside the Starliner Diner
Inside the Starliner Diner
Starliner Diner features burgers, fried chicken, salads and sundaes.

Of course, what's all the adventure without food?  Hungry, we had our lunch at the Starliner Diner.  Starliner Diner serves up easy and fast meals, hot and ready to eat in no time; fit for any on-the-go-guests who worry about time constrains.

Chicken Barbecue Rice Combo with Chicken Corn Soup, costs HK$68.00 each set meal
We were so hungry that these almost-ordinary-fast-food meals seems unusually yummy and sumptuous! =)

Fantasyland

Fantasyland

Fantasyland, enter the world of enchantment and fantasy; where you meet Characters live out of our fairytale books that we used to love and still love until today.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Your very own Dumbo ride

Dumbo the Flying Elephant, soar high aboard your own Dumbo.  Pilot your own Dumbo high up and low through Fantasyland.  You can let your kids hold the controls, just remind them to go slowly or you'll turn your tummies upside down. =)

Mad Hatter Tea Cups
Mad Hatter Tea Cups, go for a spin at a most unconventional tea party.  Where you control your own spins by spinning the steering wheel. =)

White Rabbit and Alice of "Alice in Wonderland"

Meet and greet with White Rabbit and Alice outside "Mad Hatter Tea Cups".  Meeting with these Characters made me remember the classic fairytale of Alice in Wonderland.  It's like being a kid all over again. =)

Cinderella Carousel

Cinderella Carousel, where one ride any of the 60 graceful, prancing horses.  Adults and kids can enjoy gliding together on horses around this carousel.

"The Golden Mickeys"
The Golden Mickeys is a musical celebration of Disney's film, and characters.  This is a must for everyone!  Set aside time for this musical in your adventure's itinerary!  Take note of the time and be prompt.  They don't accept guests during the middle of the show.

Royal Banquet Hall

Royal Banquet Hall is an international food fair offering American grill, Japanese Cuisine, Chinese dim sum / steamed rice and specialty rice dishes.  This hall deserves another blog for their fascinating interior! See my next blog soon about this hall...

After a long exhausting albeit extremely fun day, we had our dinner at Royal Banquet Hall.  We were all so exhausted that it's already an effort just to eat.  But if you ask me if I would do this again?  YES, I definitely will!

Adventureland
We haven't have the opportunity to explore Adventureland, due to time constrains and having a toddler with you all the time could slow down the pace of your exploration.  But nevertheless, I wouldn't have it the other way around. =)

The main attraction of Adventureland are Tarzan's Treehouse and Jungle River Cruise.

  • Tarzan's Treehouse - Climb to high adventure in the treetop home of Tarzan.  Conduct experiments and play musical instruments in an interactive playhouse at the base of the tree.
  • Jungle River Cruise - Journey with your intrepid skipper along the mysterious Rivers of Adventure.  Get amazed with their lifelike animals, places and people.  Even the rivers has its own surprise in store for you.

These are some of the fun things we did, that we will cherish forever.  Whatever it is you will encounter, I'm positively sure it will also be an experience worth remembering. =)

Hong Kong Disneyland Amusement Park

After enjoying Disneyland Hotel,  we now embark on our next journey... that is The Disneyland Amusement Park.  Filled with excitement, we waited for the shuttle that will bring us from the hotel to Disneyland Amusement Park.

The complimentary shuttle for guest staying at the resort

Inside our shuttle bus

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Sign greeted us upon arrival

The first thing to do when you enter an amusement park is to get their brochures and map.  I had the chance to do the naivete thing the first time we went to an amusement park, was to forget to get these instruction guides.  The result was quiet shockingly crazy.  Walking around we found the shortest line to a ride.  Due to time constraints at that time, we fall in line not knowing what ride it was.  Just so we can experience just one ride before leaving.

We were shocked and surprised that it was one of the scariest and thrilling ride in the park.  Boy, did we learn our lesson then.  We never forgot the second time around! =)

What to expect inside Disneyland Hong Kong?  Lots.  The wonderful thing is that you can finish the whole park in 1-2 days if you want to experience all of it.  Just to feel some accomplishment there.

I've been to Disneyland in L.A., and oh I love the place but I only enjoyed a tiny (very tiny) part of the park.  Leaving some wishful thinking of having to have stayed a little longer just to fully enjoy it.

In Hong Kong Disneyland, set aside 1-2 full days and you will be fulfilled!  Here's what you will enjoy:

  • Main Street U.S.A. - Stepping into a turn-of-the-20th century American Town Take a stroll in the quaint streets or ride in old vehicles.  Or join the lively day parades where you can dance and sing along in this daily procession featuring elaborate floats, musicians, dancers and Characters from famous Disney stories. Or watch the exciting fireworks at night which are synchronized to the music of famous Disney films that lights up the sky with exciting pyrotechnics.
Disneyland Railroad
Disneyland Emporium - if your thirst for souvenirs is not yet satisfied, this is one of the shops to enter!

Of course, can't resist to shop a bit more (GRIN =) )!  These are a few of my precious finds!

Mickey Pull-up Pen Set which costs HK$ 80.00

Mickey briefs for my little prince, this costs HK$150.00

  • Tomorrowland - Discover the thrill of space exploration as you ride through the dark in an exciting indoor rollercoaster with thrilling lights, music and electrifying special effects. Battle aliens with Buzz Lightyear with laser guns and compete with other Guests as you blast enemy targets.  Interact with Stitch, and so much more!

  • Fantasyland - Where one immerses in Fairytale.   Stepping through the castle doors and immersing oneself in the place where Disney stories come to life.  One journeys through the land where one meet princesses, take a ride with Dumbo and watch fabulous stage shows performed by famous Characters in a Broadway-style musical celebrating Disney movies like"Toy Story", "Lilo ans Stitch" and more.
    • Adventureland - Journey into the jungle.  Voyage into an exotic world on a jungle boat safari journey where one explore the waters of the jungle and encounter exotic beasts on a big boat adventure.  Watch the colorful pageant of music and dance in the live musical with amazing costumes, lively dancers, fire and acrobatics based on "The Lion King" movie.  Or climb the towering branches of Tarzan's Treehouse.

It's up to us how we make this journey enjoyable.  But one thing's for sure, one will never run out of things to see and explore! =)

    Hong Kong: Disneyland Hotel's Garden

Our breakfast at Disneyland Hotel's Enchanted Garden Restaurant was really memorable.  And what made it the more so is that we had this really fantastic view.  I think it's worthwhile to blog a view this magnificent!  I almost forgot to do so until I scanned my photos. =)

    A very well tended garden

A view fit for a pictorial
Just beyond is the maze. As you can see, it is well-cut and well-tended.  It's a pity we haven't got the chance to explore it due to weather conditions.

It was quite a misty day

Above, a sneek view of the guests room's veranda

    Elegant stairs on both sides

If the weather had permitted us, we could have had the chance to discover what will lead going up those elegant stairs!  Maybe next time! =)

Hong Kong: Disneyland Hotel's Gift Shop, Salon and Bathroom

The one thing we can't resist when we have vacations is to look for souvenirs to bring home.  Even if we know that hotel souvenir prices are a bit pricey... still this is "The Land of Mickey Mouse", the icon associated for Disneyland! =)  So let's threw caution in the wind for awhile and buy even one (1) little thing that fancy our eyes...  or not? =)

Everything cute and fancy, pretty and nice, delicate and classy, fluffy and soft, all that's pleasing to the eyes and nice to the touch.  A haven for the little kids and even a haven for money spending parents and adults...  (grin... grin... grin...) !

Everything nice and fancy to the touch and eyes.

Mickey and Minnie Stuff Toys under the colored window panes.

Rows and row of plush toys

Cute and cuddly baby Donald Duck

And of course fancy clothes for the little tots! =)

Here are some of my great finds that might give you an idea of what to expect inside this gift shop.

    Coloring Case
A coloring case containing 18 color pencils, 18 slim markers, 18 crayons, 18 pastels, 12 markers, pencil, eraser, ruler and sharpener.  Perfect for my little one.  This complete coloring case cost HK$165.00.

    10 Classic Markers
If the coloring case might be too expensive for your taste,  these classic markers will still do its magic to your little one.  These classic markers costs HK$50.00.

5th Anniversary Special Edition souvenir spoon and fork
Since Disneyland Hong Kong is celebrating their 5th Anniversary, they have lots of special edition souvenirs.  This special edition spoon and fork set souvenir is great to give to somebody special to you, or just for yourself.  This one costs HK$150.00.

    Heart shaped lock and key
This one is my best find. Only for me! =)  A Disney Princess lock and key.  Really love cute stuffs! =)  This one costs HK$60.00.

After satisfying our curiosity with all the lovely goods at the gift shop, we went to the bathroom before continuing our journey for the day.  And oh, we're glad we did.  The lobby's bathroom is magnificent!

    Ladies Bathroom Sign

    Gentlemen's Bathroom Sign

    Bathroom interior

Disney Princess mirrors and marbled counter tops

The Victorian theme continued even inside the bathroom interior.  The lights illuminate the golden design all over the area.  It's a sight to behold.  The counter tops are well maintained and clean.  It's as if you'll be wary to use them thinking you might mess up the beauty of the place. =)  It also has a sink designed particularly for the convenience of the kids!  Disneyland do think of everything don't you think?

Just outside the bathroom is a salon for your little princesses, where they can be made up into real princesses with matching princess gowns.  It's a fairytale come true in this salon.  If you have little girls this is where they would love to go.

The salon with its window display of Disney Princesses gowns.  Inside they are treated to an individual vanity where they are made-up to be real princesses! =)

Something for the little girls to look forward to and something for the adults' expectation to see the appreciation and delight coming from their kids eyes.  It's those precious moments that makes it all worthwhile!
